How Invisalign Worked

Invisalign treatment starts with the end in view. A 3-D computer model is made of the patient’s smile. The model shows the patient’s teeth before and after treatment with Invisalign. Margeson will make any needed changes, and the information is sent to the Invisalign lab where the aligners are designed.

Margeson can show patients each movement with Invisalign’s ClinCheck software throughout treatment.

Invisalign aligners are made of clear, medical-grade plastic . They can be customized to fit each individual patient. The typical patient will receive four to six sets during their appointment for an orthodontic exam. Each aligner is worn for approximately two weeks.

Margeson explained that the set of aligners works in conjunction to gradually reposition teeth in proper alignment. Treatment usually takes between 9 and 18 months.

Oral Hygiene Benefits

Keeping the teeth and gums healthy is easy during Invisalign treatment since aligners can be removed while drinking, eating, brushing and flossing.

Margeson stated that tartar and plaque can build up around brackets in patients who aren’t vigilant about their oral hygiene. Food particles often get stuck around brackets.” Flossing can also take longer due to floss threaders that are required to move between teeth and wires to ensure proper flossing.

Having removable aligners eliminates any possible obstructions. Patients can wear their aligners and take them off to consume food or drink. They can also floss and brush as usual.
